Gwilym Hughes & Partners has always had a high reputation as a family law practice, dealing with Divorce, Financial Disputes and resolving problems over Children, whether the parties have been married or not. We regularly obtain very speedy Injunctions to protect those suffering Domestic Violence. We have particular expertise, with a member of the Children Panel, in care proceedings, where Social Services are involved with a child, and adoption. We act for parents and, on the recommendation of Children's Guardian, represent the child in such proceedings. We deal with a wide variety of other Family Law matters ? the Child Support Agency, paternity disputes, trans-national matters and represent Clients in all levels of family Courts. We act for all family members including grandparents. We are on the list of Solicitors approved by the grandparents' association. Due to our specialised knowledge of care proceedings, we also frequently act for foster carers.
The expanding Family Law Department is currently headed by Partner, John Lancaster, supported by Senior Solicitor Rebecca Evans, Assistant Solicitors Christine Hughes, Meghana Nagaraj, Legal Executive Terry Law and trainee Legal Executive Jane Edwards. The Department has members of Resolution (previously known as the Solicitors' Family Law Association') the Family Law Panel and the Children Panel.
