Description: The Timms family law department has an impressive wealth of experience to call on in relation to family issues. Most of the team are members of the Law Society's Family Law Panel (an indication of competence and experience) and Resolution.

Two of our lawyers are Resolution accredited specialists who have demonstrated that they meet stringent requirements through formal written examination and submission of relevant case studies. The areas of accredited specialisation are Children Law (Private), Advocacy - Ancillary Relief and Domestic Violence.

Several of our lawyers are also members of the Law Society's Children Panel. This means we have special expertise in relation to care and other related proceedings brought by local authorities and bodies such as the NSPCC.

We provide emergency cover in relation to incidents of domestic violence. In Derby we belong to the Domestic Violence Panel, in Burton upon Trent the Domestic Violence Forum.

In addition to the above, we cover the full range of family related issues; divorce and separation, custody and access in relation to children, changes of name, child abduction, etc. We regularly appear in all the courts in the area and you will be able to speak to a family lawyer in any of our three offices.
