More Solicitor Information
Name: Gordon Brown Associates - Legal Services

Description: Gordon Brown Associates Family Law Department is very sensitive to the acrimonious issues that can be heightened by the legal process between separating couples. To eliminate acrimony as much as possible our family lawyers are members of Resolution, the new name for the Solicitors Family Law Association, which was created in 1982.

All members of Resolution must agree to follow the code of Practice which sets out the principles of a non confrontational approach to family law matters. Its widespread adoption and endorsement by the courts has fundamentally changed the way family law cases are handled.

Couples are encouraged to settle disputes by negotiation wherever possible

Parents are urged to deal with each other constructively and to focus on their continuing role in relation to their children

Disputes over financial matters and child care arrangements are kept separate

Individuals and couples are referred to other professionals where they are perceived to be helpful

Members benefit from specialist education and training in the legal and non legal aspects of their work with separating couples and their children.

From cradle to grave we can help with the problems of life, offering a sympathetic ear and effective advice and action on co-habitation and civil partnership; separation and divorce; residence orders and contact with children; care and adoption. Our Solicitors are members of The Children Panel and the Family Lawyers? section of The Law Society.
