The team has a large practice of financial cases following a breakdown of marriage and also disputes regarding children. We act in general for a large number of professionals and academics.

The team consists of five solicitors and one legal executive and is headed by Catherine Eddy. The team's policy is to follow the code of conduct as set down by Resolution (formerly The Solicitors Family Law Association) and will try to negotiate an agreement when appropriate.

Looked at from a purely procedural point of view, the legal ending of a marriage, ie the divorce itself, is likely to be a far more straightforward and speedy process than the disentangling of a couple's finances. Undefended divorces are dealt with by the Courts without the need for Court attendance by either party.

The law in England and Wales requires a petition to set out "grounds" for divorce in order to satisfy the Court that the marriage has "irretrievably broken down" and the grounds for divorce and the procedure to be followed can be obtained by contacting Catherine Eddy.
