Our family law team is headed by Ben French and Michael Sheehan. Both are members of the Solicitors' Family Law Association and Michael is a member of the Law Society's Child Care Panel. Ben is a member of the Law Society's Family Panel.

It is our aim to keep tension and stress to a minimum and by offering practical and pragmatic advice to help resolve issues. There are times when issues cannot be resolved without Court proceedings and in those Court proceedings we will represent your best interests in seeking to achieve your desired result.

Problems relating to children are unhappily all too common. Where parents wish to resolve matters about children without the intervention of the State this is known as Private Law. Where local authorities become involved this area of law is known as Public Law. It includes care proceedings and in this area .Michael Sheehan leads our team. It is important for you to know at the outset of any transaction what the work is likely to cost and whether or not you will be eligible for legal aid.

It is not always possible for us to give our clients an accurate estimate of fees because their transaction may become more protracted or more complex than was originally anticipated. We will, however, make clear how our charges will be calculated and give as realistic an estimate as possible of the likely cost.

The amount we charge is usually dependent upon the length of time we spend on a case. We have an accurate computerised time- recording system so that we can tell how long any job has taken and we calculate our bill based upon an hourly charging rate. Details of this rate will be given to you before you instruct us to act for you.
