I am a Thai woman living in Bangkok. I have a son who was fathered by a UK citizen. He lives in Leeds. We had a long distance relationship that, from my site, was monogamous. Consequently, there is absolutely no doubt about who my son’s father is. The “gentlemen” terminated our relationship and went “incommunicado” when I refused to have an abortion. He has blocked and continues to block all my attempts to communicate with him and resolve the matter. About myself: 1. - I am a person with good morals, have never worked in a bar and from my perspective I was in a relationship that was leading to marriage. 2. - I have good (tertia) education, permanent employment. (Management) and I own my home in Bangkok. My former “boyfriend” turns out to be already married and not willing to accept any responsibilities for our son. Whilst I may be prepared to accept the fact that I was foolish and live with the consequences of my bad judgement, I am not prepared to abandon any rights or benefits my son might be entitled to, as consequence of his father nationality and financial situation. I am willing to do whatever is necessary to insure that my son receives all benefits he is entitled too (under UK and EEC laws). 3. - I have several thousand pounds in savings and I am willing to use this money to ensure that my son’s rights and entitlements are protected. 4. - for the purpose of giving me your initial feedback, kindly accept that the information herein is factual and correct. Please advise as follows: - 1. - Is your firm prepared to represent me in this matter? 2. - Could we force my son’s father to submit to a paternity test? 3. - I understand that once paternity is established (as it will be) my son’s father has to contribute to the costs of raising our son. I also understand that my son would have a right to claim his British citizenship. 4. - Please advise if my son has in fact got the assumed rights in question 3 and if, subject to the information provided by me in this letter, he would get awarded these rights and entitlements in an English court of law. 5. - Please advise about the likely cost of bringing a paternity suit against the child’s father. 6. - The child’s father lives in Leeds and works as a senior manager for a large multinational company. Awaiting your reply Warm regards Parn
